The short version

Brightfix runs on your PC and does not send information about you or your PC to us. We have no analytics in the app, no ads, and no accounts. When you buy a license, Stripe handles the payment and we keep only what we need to send and support your license.

The Brightfix app

  • No telemetry. The app does not collect usage data, crash reports or information about your files.
  • Update check. Brightfix asks the download server whether a new version exists. Like any web request, this shares your IP address and the app version with that server.
  • Microsoft Defender updates you choose to run contact Microsoft directly.
  • Licenses are checked on your PC. The app never sends your license anywhere.
  • Records on your PC. Logs, history, backups and reports stay on your PC in the Brightfix data folder. Technician job files are encrypted and stay on your PC or your USB drive.

Buying a license

  • Payments are processed by Stripe, and where Stripe acts as the seller of record, through Link. We never see your full card number. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the payment.
  • What we keep: your name as it appears on the license, your email address to deliver the license, the license id and edition, and the purchase date. Our license system stores a one-way hash of your email rather than the address itself.
  • License email is sent through Microsoft Azure Communication Services, without tracking pixels or link tracking.

This website

getbrightfix.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security.

Your choices

Email support@getbrightfix.com to get a copy of what we hold about you or to have it deleted, except what we must keep for tax and accounting. California residents have these rights under the CCPA and CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information.

Children

Brightfix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We will post changes here with a new date. Material changes will be noted in the app’s update notes.
